Hello and welcome oh pioneer of the interwebz. This is something I thought would be fun to try, BLOGGING, I mean everyone is doing, even people who barley know how to work a computer, so I thought I would give my shot at it.What do I have to offer: that is a good question, why read a blog unless it is interesting right?
Well here is what I am: a student studying mechanical engineering and physics, someone obsessed with all modes of transportation (cars, bikes, hovercrafts, kayaks, etc.), I love the extraordinary in everything, I like the extremes, mavericks, anyone trying something new. I ride my bike 7 miles to school everyday and then back, this is how I work out, no hamster ball (treadmill) for me, and I take care of my bike, make sure good tire pressure, oiled, I'm sure I'll be posting pictures of it sooner or later. I have alot of homework so that's keeps me busy alot, I study automobile subsystems alot and hope to start an FSAE team, I try to stay busy building outside projects as well to keep my skills sharp.
For jobs, I started off working at See's candies for the holidays (first job), then went to work as a tutor in math, then worked at a dog breeders farm (gordon setters), I then worked at an automotive repair and full service gas station (Frey's automotive) where I learned alot about my love, the automobile, after this job I focus on school for a bit, the after getting bored with only having school I was hired at Make magazine, where I learned ALOT about electronics, physics, building, and the world of DIY. I would be the articles in the magazine to make sure they work (awesome job, just had to deal with alot of people who didn't have complete projects)
I then transferred to Chico State (I know party school, guy must be dumb, I was just lazy my first years of College) where I am learning alot about working with people, and advanced school. My first year at CSUC I was part of the human powered vehicle where we came in second, over summer I stayed in Chico over summer where I worked as a handyman. If you get a chance come visit Chico in the summer time I fell in love with nights in the summer time, no need for a sweatshirt, hell it is so hot you want to take your shirt off, and then there is one mile swimming hole where the water is warm at night and you can going swimming all night. Now I am working on converting a tractor to electric for a Gentleman in Chico, I'll let you know how that goes.
I enjoy cooking (mostly bbqing), drinking beer ( I have a friend who brews and will probably try to include this in here), biking(fixed for life foo), cars, power kiting, random projects (electronics/mechanical).
Now you know me a little better, and have an idea of what my experiences are, so interested in continuing your read?
Wow that was long, it is a release after all; a release from what you ask; a release from instant reaction. What is instant reaction you ask?
The reaction you immediately get while communicating in real life (e.g. no screen of lights between two people). For example when you say something and are immediately judged for saying.it with either; a laugh, a bored look, or the scolding look from your significant other. This is what I would call 'instant reaction', no time to take back what you are saying, no time to think about it and the precipitant will react. You have to be quick on your toes, be able to come up with witty 'comebacks', be able to make conversation; or suffer humiliation.. Now I realize these are all good social skills to possess, but it is nice to be able to not have to be on defense all the time. and that's what I hope this blog will offer me. A way to speak my mind, a place to actually write about what interests me, and not get tied up in whether my audience is entertained, because if you are reading my blog then I must be doing something right or you may have a wire crossed in your head.
Cliffnotes of that last paragraph: I don't have to worry bout what my friends think, don't have to worry about stuttering, dont have to worry about if my breath smells or not..
Well that was my first post, I apologize for this exhaustively long post about myself.
